Ryan R. McCain is a partner at Barfield McCain Ayoub, P.A. and has been zealously representing owners, landlords, asset managers, and property management companies since 2006.  He is certified by The Florida Bar as a Board-Certified Real Estate Lawyer. Board certification is The Florida Bar’s highest level of evaluation of the competency and experience of attorneys and identifies Mr. McCain’s special knowledge, skills and proficiency in the area of Real Estate, as well his reputation for professionalism and ethics.

 

Mr. McCain is also a member of the Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law (RPPTL) Section and serves on RPPTL’s Landlord/Tenant Leasing Committee.  He proudly serves as Legal Counsel for the Florida Apartment Association (FAA), and the South East Florida Apartment Association (SEFAA). He has previously served as a Delegate on the Board of Directors for FAA.  The National Apartment Association (NAA) further retains Mr. McCain as local Florida counsel to conduct annual reviews and modifications to its Florida state-wide lease package. 

 

SEFAA has awarded Mr. McCain with both the President’s Award and Associate Volunteer of the Year Award with FAA.  He has been published on numerous occasions in FAA’s Multifamily Florida quarterly publication and frequently teaches Landlord-Tenant legal seminars, Fair Housing legal seminars and Certified Apartment Management (CAM) seminars to property management companies and property managers throughout the state of Florida.

 

Mr. McCain has experience handling a wide variety of real estate litigation and transactional matters, including complex residential and commercial landlord-tenant law, real estate sale and purchase matters, contractual disputes, Fair Housing law, real estate title issues, appellate work, and code enforcement defenses.  He is admitted to practice in all Florida State Courts, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

 

Mr. McCain obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Stetson University College of Law in 2006 graduating cum laude in the top 17% of his class.  While at Stetson University College of Law, Mr. McCain was honored to be a senior associate for the Stetson Law Review, served as a Federal Judicial Intern to the Honorable Magistrate Judge Elizabeth Jenkins in the Middle District of Florida, and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honors Fraternity.  He also received the Book Award in Research & Writing II, the William F. Blews Pro Bono Service Award, and the Collegiate All-American Scholar Award.  Prior to attending law school, Mr. McCain graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Finance and Minors in Business Law and E-Business Technology from Stetson University.
